Corporate Wellness Task Force - Live Healthy Dallas 100 Day Challenge
Chronic disease alone caused 60% of deaths worldwide in 2005, and will increase by nearly 17% over the next 10 years. Employee wellness affects a variety of issues important to top level executives: long term competitiveness, productivity, corporate social responsibility, and profitability. Healthcare Job Shadowing:
Job shadowing is an academically motivating activity designed to give 9th grade students an up-close look at the world of work and to answer the question, "Why do I have to learn this?" This is a one-day opportunity for students to experience what goes on in a local healthcare organization.

Speaker’s Bureau:
Thanks to the cooperation of hospitals in the DFW region, we are able to access presenters in your area who enjoy speaking to individuals about factors relating to a career in healthcare. These speakers will come to your facility. Some of the speakers will provide demonstrations. Others will bring portable equipment to show how they are used in patient care. Sometimes we are able to provide handouts or giveaways to illustrate the content of the presentations. All will provide pertinent information on the topics of your choice. Healthcare Advisory Council:
The Healthcare Advisory Council is committed to ensuring the region remains competitive by: providing forums and educational opportunities related to current healthcare issues; serving as liaison between business, healthcare and government to address and anticipate healthcare challenges; and examining, influencing and creating public awareness of public policies affecting the healthcare industry.

The Career Insight Forum is a one-day continuing education program for career investigation and career exploration educators highlighting regional high-demand/growth occupations in healthcare. Panelists representing higher education and industry highlight career paths and opportunties, application faux pas, and career benefits.

Hospital System CEO Council
The CEO Council, comprised of major area hospital system CEOs, discusses issues of common concern and importance to area hospitals and healthcare providers including: workforce, trauma, reimbursement, the uninsured, regional health care workforce planning and current legislative issues.

Public Policy Task Force
The public policy task force focuses on the current/upcoming health care legislative issues at both the state and federal level. Task force initiatives include keeping the public informed on legislative progress and forming the Chamber's position statement.
