DFW Winning Workplaces

What does it take to be voted a “best place to work” by such prestigious publications as Fortune Magazine, Dallas Business Journal and Chief Executive Magazine? With the number of businesses in the DFW area, standing out takes significant effort and dedicated leadership.

What is the secret for success and can others recreate it? It might seem that these organizations only exist in a consultant’s imagination; in actuality, they continue to pop up all around the DFW area. However, remaining a top performer presents another challenge within itself.

Author Greg Bustin shares a grim statistic for fast growing and highly lauded organizations. “For years, through boom times and downturns, companies winning the Dallas 100 award have achieved an average annual compound growth rate of 150%, with some of these companies generating up to $200 million a year in sales. Yet each year, these high-flying companies succumb to the double whammy of fast growth and a higher profile that invites new pressure from their competition."

"Over a 13-year period, out of literally thousands of companies nominated for the 100 award, only 71 companies (5%) have been recognized for three years of record-setting growth, and only one company (.07%) has won the award for stellar growth eight times in a 13-year period.”
